Little Elm trash & recycling schedule
Gray 95-gallon CWD cart, weekly. Bag everything that goes in it, and have it out by 7 a.m. (they run 7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Keep carts 3 ft apart and 3 ft from mailboxes, cars, fences, and the like; wheels toward the house; lid shut; 16 ft of clear space overhead. Trash left outside the cart, overloaded carts, or carts blocked by cars get skipped. Bring carts back within 24 hours — don’t leave them sitting at the curb.

Set-out
Bulk pickup is automatic in Little Elm — no request needed.
Set-out checklist
City rules before collection day. Confirm with the city if anything looks off.
When
Carts out by 7 a.m. on service day (pickup 7 a.m.–7 p.m.). Bulk and brush out by 7 a.m. on your designated bulk-week trash day; collected by 7 p.m. Bring carts back within 24 hours.
Where
Carts at the curb (or alley edge if that’s your route), wheels toward the house, lid closed. Keep 3 ft between trash and recycle carts and 3 ft from mailboxes, cars, fences, gas meters, and drainage ditches; 16 ft overhead clearance. Bulk and brush go in the grassy strip between sidewalk and curb in front of the house — even when trash is alley-served.
Limits
Bulk up to 6 cubic yards per pickup; tied/bundled brush unlimited. Overloaded carts and trash left outside the cart aren’t serviced. Replacement cart is $75; an extra cart is $92.70 per bin through Utility Billing.
Brush
Tree limbs in 4 ft × 2 ft bundles under 50 lb, tied. Grass and leaves bagged. Fence panels no bigger than 4 ft × 6 ft. Carpet bundled in 4-ft lengths.
Not allowed
Not collected as bulk: HHW (paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, fuel, poisons, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fluorescent lamps/ballasts, smoke detectors, medical waste, certain cleaners), commercial or residential construction/remodeling debris, tires, batteries, auto parts, and loose debris (put it in a box or container ≤2×2×4 ft and ≤50 lb). Refrigerators and freezers need a professional refrigerant-removal label.
Bags
Bag all household trash inside the gray cart. Recyclables go in the blue cart (approved items only). Lids closed.
Fees and fines
Town and CWD pages don’t list set-out citation dollar amounts. Red tags explain why something wasn’t picked up (too close to objects, lid open, out of reach, HHW, bulk on the wrong day). Cart replacement $75; additional carts $92.70 each via Utility Billing.

Holidays
Not yet confirmed. Check your city.
As of Oct 15, 2026, the town FAQ still only links the 2025 Residential Solid Waste Holiday Schedule (DocumentCenter/View/20580). No 2026 holiday PDF turned up on littleelm.org or in the 2026 Little Elm Solid Waste Guide. Don’t invent Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year slides for 2026 — check CWD View My Schedule or the town once a 2026 sheet is posted. For reference only, the 2025 pattern delayed NY / Independence Day / Thanksgiving / Christmas (week slid to Saturday); MLK, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Good Friday didn’t disrupt pickup.
