- Jersey City Department of Public Works — Division of Sanitation. Curbside trash twice weekly by zone (Mon/Thu, Tue/Fri, or Wed/Sat — see city WasteGUIDELINES / household collection days map). Call 201-547-4400 for day/problems. Trash curbside no earlier than 7:00 p.m. and no later than 10:00 p.m. night before collection (city WasteGUIDELINES PDF; older 2024 schedule PDF cited 5:00–8:00 p.m.).
- Recycling
- Once weekly. Separate two categories: (1) plastics/glass/cans (and listed food/drink containers) in recycling container; (2) paper/cardboard tied or in recycling containers. Don't place recyclables in plastic bags (ShopRite/Target for bags). Same 7:00–10:00 p.m. set-out window night before. Drop-off center Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. at 13–15 Linden Avenue East for tires and other designated recyclables.
