Full details for Colorado Springs: every rule, with sources
Trash
No city-operated residential curbside trash. Single-family and multifamily service is through private licensed haulers (WastelessCOS study cites ~23 providers). Residents contract for cart pickup, days, and fees with their hauler. City WastelessCOS plan (2026) does not change current collection — roadmap only; Colorado EPR statewide recycling cost shift begins implementation 2026 per city FAQ (does not replace hauler contract on day one). Bear Management Area (most city limits west of I-25): trash must be in secured structure or certified bear-resistant container at all times except collection day 5:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. (recycle bins exempt from bear-resistant rule). Violations → Neighborhood Services. Yard waste drop-off example: Rocky Top Resources 1755 E Las Vegas St (Forestry page).
Recycling
Contact the city for recycling details.
Bulk pickup
Hauler-dependent for curbside bulky; city documents reference private haulers and transfer facilities (e.g. Citadel Transfer Station materials on coloradosprings.gov) — no single city bulky calendar. Bear-area set-out windows apply to trash carts on collection day.
